Michelle Waslin
is director of
immigration policy research for the National Council of La
Raza in Washington, D.C. In that position, she monitors
and analyzes federal
immigration legislation, advocates on behalf of Latino immigrants,
writes policy statements and analyses, coordinates advocacy
activity, works with English and Spanish language media, conducts public
education
events, and maintains relationships with wide array of
federal and state organizations. Previously, she has worked for the
Center
for Social Concerns at the University of Notre Dame and
the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Protection in Chicago.
