Michael Sims’s latest book, Apollo’s Fire: A Day on Earth in Nature and Imagination, was chosen as one of the Best Science Books of 2007 by National Public Radio. His second book, Adam’s Navel: A Natural and Cultural History of the Human Form, was a New York Times Notable Book and a Library Journal Best Science Book. He is also the author of Darwin's Orchestra: An Almanac of Nature in History and the Arts. Sims has written for the Washington Post, Orion, Gourmet, and many other periodicals in the U.S. and abroad.
